I need help ASAP

Question

Ok, sorry if this is in the wrong place.   I just resarted my laptop and now I have a big problem.  When I log in, it's to a blank screen.  An error comes up that says Notification dll has not been registered, program will not work correctly.  Then I can't get past that.  I sit at a blank screen.  I want to try and system restore it but I can't get into the computer enough to do it.   Please help me fix this asap.  I don't know what to do.

1. What happened before you restarted the computer? Install software, driver... ? 2. Have you attempted to boot into safe mode by pressing F8 at boot up to see if that will get you to the desktop.   pcgeek11

If you are using W-XP, did you ever activate it?

Using a Dell PC with a Dell OS it shouldn't need activating.   pcgeek11

Yeah, I know, but he did not say that was what he did or even the model laptop he has. If he had an older model that did not come with XP, and bought either a retail set or Non-Dell OEM set, that would need activation.
