USB Ports or pen drives not working

Question

Hello all I have just upgraded my inspiron 6400 to Vista premium and allis well apart from one big problem. When i plug in any pen drive to any of the USB Ports nothing happens They are not recognised and dont work Can anyone please help Thanks in advance Craig

When you say 'upgraded', did you install Vista over XP, or start with a clean install?
