Calibrating 2407WFP using SpyderPro

Question

I have never calibrated a screen properly before, so I was hoping someone has the same monitor / calibration gear and could give me a few pointers.  I use the computer mainly for photos, so the correct colour is vital.   I am using the Digital connection to the computer, not the analog which according to the 'manual' disables the ability to alter the contrast.  I have been advised to set the Gamma at  2.2 and temperature at 6500??????  but not sure how / where I do this.   Any assistance would be greatly appreciated - Karen

this monitor have native gamma at 2.2 and ive tested the color temperature with a 6500k light source and looks like is 6500 k 'by default'.
