CPI A Video INOP After installing Win XP PRO

Question

I have a CPI-A originally a 233 that I upgraded to a 500MHZ chip.  Everything has been fine for 3-4 years now since I had this computer, I ran Win 98 on it fine, then upgraded to Win 200 Pro fine.   Today I loaded Win XP Pro and I have a totally messed up LCD sceen. I can't read it at all just all shacky with multiple copies of the screen overlapping each other. Even when the computer is booting up the BIOS page looks bad now.    I downloaded and installed the video driver from dell for Win 2000 becuase that was the latest one on the site. My Driver file details now say: Provider: NeoMagic, File 6.03.02Q, Driver Date 7/1/2000.   If I hook an external monitor it works fine but no matter what settings I use I cannot get he LCD display to work.   Can I even run XP Pro on this laptop? Hi,   You have a hardware fault. In the Bios, you dont need a HDD so the OS cant do anything. Try a reseat of the video card, and the cable. It could still be the LCD or cable at fault. If you are looking for parts, make sure you get the right model parts. The CPiA used a different LCD and cable to the CP and CPi. The CPiA only came in 366 and 400.                                                                           Regards Chris

Well I don't know how the LCD went bad or a cable got loose but if it turns out to be that I will just sell it for parts and accessories then. I already bought a Lattitude 640 about a year ago now, this one was just going to be used for fun.
