This might not be your solution, but have you installed the windows updates? especifically the HID device one?

Im glad you got it working - somehow =)
 
I was having trouble with the sleep too, until I ran updates..
Well Im glad it works now..

I have all of the updates as far as I know. I think that the problem may be with my network. I noticed that if I disabled a network hard drive connected to another computer on my home network that the sleep function worked fine. I restarted the other computer on the network, turned the drive off then back on, and now sleep works just fine.

I have no idea what the issue was, but I'm glad it's working (for now).
