Alt key seems jammed

Question

The laptop is behaving as if the Alt key is jammed, this is making the keyboard inoperable. The keys themselves are operating correctly as i checked them and used an external keyboard and the problem remained. Has anybody had this problem before?

Exactly the same problem which makes my keyboard very hard to use, even not usable. 'File' blinks permanently as if the Alt key had been pressed, sometimes once, sometimes permanently.

Is it the same problem you're experiencing?
