The policy is as follows -
A monitor purchased with a PC BEFORE 12/12/2005 has a 3 year warranty or uses the longer PC warranty

A monitor purchased with a PC ON/AFTER 12/12/2005 uses the length of the PC warranty (90 days, 1 year, 2 year, etc)

So, you made the purchase before 12/12/05 so the monitors have a 3 year warranty based off of the 20 digit PPID number.

all lcd backlights have a lifespan to them, no different then the light bulbs in your house. people seem to think that leaving an lcd/tv/etc on for 24 hours a day and letting it go to a screensaver will somehow extend the lifespan of the light mechanism behind the lcd panel :) i had one colleague buy a laptop that he kept on nearly 24/7 that went to his picture collection for a screensaver, it went out just after one year, of course the warranty was for a year, needless to say he ended up ponying over $400 for a new screen...

I too have an E173FPb, a bit over 3 years old. My monitor just went blank and the power button just kept blinking. Nothing I have done has helped. I'm guessing my display adapter, GeForce 6800 GTO is working as I am able to hook up a my old dell monitor that is not a flat panel and it works fine. Any ideas, suggestions? Thanks for any help.
