There are a bunch of cheap ( $20) cables on Newegg that convert from HDMI to DVI, which I assume will work. My understanding is HDMI is basically just DVI with a different connection plus audio added in.
Please post how well this works for you! I'm not buying a 1720 mostly because it lacks a digital output, and have toyed with the idea of a 1330 for that reason-but I would love first hand confirmation that it works like a normal DVI port!
I'm suspecting that the 1710's replacement will also only have an HDMI port, no DVI...which means those cables had better work flawlessly.
I haven't had a chance to test a 1330 but I use HDMI cables on my cable box and DVD player to my TV and they work great, beats having to plug in three or more cables for one device.
