Urgent..:no cd's installation Inspiron 6000 notebook??

Question

Hi, I have a notebook Inspiron 6000 with Windows XP and Office 2003 on it. When I turn on the computer the touchpad seems to have a life of its own...:-(. There are popping up menus and I can not click or type anymore. I understand this can be a virus. Now the computertechnician asks for cd's of installation but I can not find any. My urgent question is now: I bought it in 2005, is it correct that no cd's were delivered with the notebook at all? Is it delivered with the programs already on it? There is a small paper which says something like this: 'you don't need a re-installation cd, if you need to re-install look in the Owners manual'. But I can't do anything on the notebook anymore. If you don't have the original installation CDs, contact Dell and request them. This shouldn't be a problem.

What it's refering to is 'PC Restorwe'. When you start the system hold down your Ctrl key and tap F11. It will take you to a menu with Restore as an option. If you choose it you will wipe all the data from your drive and return your system to the state it was in when you first recieved it.   If that doesn't work for you then you are stuck with the CDs. As mentioned you can call tech support and they will ship them out to you along with your drivers cd. Quite often they will even do it if you are out of warranty. gl
