19' SE198WFPV looks pretty pure

Question

Brand new Dimention E521, Vista x32 with Widescreen Flat Display. All fonts looks very bad: vertical elements like radish so whole font has kind of military style. The same for text, windows bars, menus. Background feels like too bright but reducing brightness will degrade quality futher. Could it be Vista driver problem or screen just a junk? On Dell site it has 5 stars: 'crisp clear...', 'the best...'

Maybe your monitor is connected to the computer with VGA connector.  Isn't is supposed to be better with DVI connection?   However, when I use DVI connector on mine, it doesn't work.  It only works with VGA connector.  I think something is wrong with mine or I am doing something wrong.    Anyone care to comment on it?

My dumb mistake.   It seems that I just needed to power down the computer before swaping the cable from VGA to DVI.    Now it works fine.

Spent about 2 hours with Dell support group, did reinstall nVidia driver for Vista. Most improvements got from resolution changed to 1400x900 and resetting factory video parameters. Still fonts are not sharp as in winXP Did not see any DVI connector on the back of computer, how you guys connect it? On the monitor side I saw  wide (~1') soccet with 2 groups 3x3 and another one flat pins. Is it for DVI?
