After reviewing threads in in this Monitor Forum, powering up of Dell monitors is a MAJOR PRODUCT DEFECT. Also, I found out this monitor was covered by a THREE YEAR warranty.
I am requesting that this monitor be replaced under the product warranty.
thanks, for your reply...from your info... Dell DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS.
I know it means nothing to you... I will Never buy another Dell product.. I was told NOT to buy this monitor by someone that used to work on the Dell's Round Rock assembly line ...
I learned my leason about buying a Dell product, and how Michael Dell stands behind his products.
I am aware that any product can be taken care of under warranty if the manufacturer of that product is Customer Orientated. As all the information from the monitor was given to you previously, especially manufacture date. It only takes simple logic to see that this monitor is still within Dell's 3 yr warranty period.
Also, Dell is having a problem with their monitors circuit boards, which is causing the no power up concerns. All you have to do is research the Web and these concerns are very well documented.
i am NO novice on product warranties and what can be done to keep your customer base happy and come back to your products on future purchases.
most warranties cover the product, no matter whom it is owned by.
I have over 20 yrs of General Motors tech training including, up to date electronic's training,
And been dealing with warranty issues for a local Chevrolet Dealer for over 15 yrs and YES, We bend over backward at times, to take care of the customer and his/her vehicle.
If GM and their Dealers will help customers even when their vehicle are way past their warranty period w/ Goodwill service....
Chris, When is Dell going to step up to the plate... and take care of current product customer's warranty concerns---and keep them for future Dell purchases?
This is becoming an issue of Dell honoring and standing behind the warranties on the products they sell to the public.
All I can do is stand by the current warranty policies. Your in the wrong area if you want to change those policies. My advice to you is to post your thoughts on the
Ideastorm and the
Direct2Dell blog.

The original buyer of this monitor must provide to you the original Dell order number so I can look up the monitor warranty status.

Without it, there is not a next step.

Without an order number, our tools will not allow us to verify who bought it, what warranty is on it, etc.

"b" = black (color of monitor casing)
