I've bought 3 1505's. 1 has intergrated graphics 2 have the x1400. I haven't had any problems playing games or pretty much whatever I needed to do. Sorry to hear about you problems with yours, but I'm really pleased with all the Dells I have.

BTW, Sims 2 does not require an advanced video card and will run fine on the intel GMA9xx series. It may not be lightning fast, but you should not see any graphic artifacts.

The final lesson you should learn though is to always get at least the bottom of the line discrete graphics processor.

I currently own a i6400 with ati x1400 and a i5100 with a ati m7500 and my wife owns a 600m.

My mother owns a 1410 and my sister owns a 640m.

I previously owned a 5150 with ati M9000 and none of these ever needed more than basic maintenance.

As a service tech, I can honestly tell you that most people do things that damage their notebooks and have no idea of the harm until its too late - And even then, they usually blame it on their "lemon" hardware.

I have also had several Dell's and never suffered any type of problems with any of them. Sorry for your issues, but the rant about the video card is quite wrong as the Geforce go 7300 should play SIMS2. I play Oblivion on my 1501 with an integrated Ati X1150.

Here are the the system video requirements:

Recommened video cards ( and the more video memory the better):
  • ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
  • Nvidia Geforce 4
  • Visit "The Sims 2" official website for a more detailed list.

You need more ram.The 7300 has 64mb onboard, the rest is shared taking from your system ram.Get at least a 1gig stick. Two 1 gig sticks would be better.
