Do you have an external monitor available? If so, if you plug it in to your laptop, does the issue come on the other screen too? If so you have a problem with your video card and if it's only a month old, I would contact Dell for a replacement. If it only comes up on your laptop screen with an external monitor, then there is a problem with your LCD, and again Dell should replace it. If you don't have an external monitor available, try to run a test on it by pressing FN + Power button and see if an error code will come up. Either way, Dell should definitely get this fixed for you. If you have a warranty that includes sending your system into the repair depot, they can set that up for you, and you won't even need to worry about checking which part is bad.
I would send it back if you could. I just sent back my 3rd
1501 for a full refund (w/ 2gb & TL56 - 120 HD ). After the first two, they claimed they had the problem fixed. After about 2 weeks this one (#3) started freezing & powering off (nothing added - other than what came with it). I spent hours, with tech support - they keep doing the same test, they can't think out of the box. When the last tech told me " this is a new problem" , I gave up. I actually told the Tech to read the forum about this new problem. I don't think anyone from Dell is reading these post. This was my fourth Dell & I wanted to stay with Dell . Customer Service was very good about it. Someone should tell Dell to listen to their customers. I can't believe they keep sending these out. Is there anyone from Dell reading these customer complaints?
Yeah: Yesterday they called and indicated there was no problems on their end but it may be a Windows problem. Well who chose to load windows on their junk??? Yep Dell, after much research I found that Windows Vista still has many operational problems but Dell installs the cheapest programs they can get/
