both are excellent monitors. i guess the question is how soon do you need a complete set of peripherals? surely you can't work w/o a monitor. if you need it ASAP, cancel the 1901FP & go w/ the 2001FP.

go for the 2001FP but be fair warned about the two issues which sooo many of us (including myself) have had (or are having) with this LCD.

1. either dead pixels

or

2. mis-aligned lighting issues where its causing one or more of the corners of the screen to be lighter than the rest of the corners.

Random - My recommendation would be go for the 2001FP, the main reason being its a MUCH faster display - and if you are doing a lot of gaming, or wanting to watch DVDs, etc etc, people report ghosting, and blurry display because the slower FPs are not fast enough on their display/refresh stuff.  We also just got our 2001FP today, cannot find a single dead pixie, though we do have the "street light in the night" effect at the top  right corner.. so will be trying to see how that affects the display. At moment only time we notice the lighting issue is when monitor is dark and nothing on display, but we are still installing our high end graphic software stuff so will see about that.

Thankfully my faith in Dell paid off - my 19" 1901fp shipped at 1am on 1/7. Which means because of the grateful Chandler in the Customer Care forum, I will get it on 1/8.

Four years of orders from Dell -  I thought this would be the one to make me go insane - patience is a virtue and pays off!
