Inspiron 1520 won't turn/power on or charge

Question

Hi All My Inspiron 1520 was working fine, I shut it down and left it charging while I had dinner. I came back and the charge light was out and the green led on the PSU was out. Now it won't turn on and is completey dead! I've tried swapping the PSU and removing the battery but that hasn't helped. The green led on the PSU turns on when I plug it in to the wall socket, but goes out when I connect the other lead to the laptop. Sounds like something in the laptop is fried, anyone else experienced anything like this? Many thanks Andy

If still under warranty, contact Dell Support. Any power surges or storms today?

Thanks for the reply.  No storms, and no surge as far am I'm aware.  The laptop is only 2 days old so I'm a bit put out!  Tech support was shut when I posted on the forum so I'll be callign them this morning!
