You can just install one with an "adjusted" INF file. However you wont get SLI. linky linky - http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/

You don't need to use a modded inf file at all to get them installed. I just thought I might as well ask if anyone had tried it, since it should disable the second GPU like you said.

I don't think people buying that system realize the second GPU is basically worthless.

This problem occurs because NVIDIA at this time programs their drivers not to do SLI on non-NVIDIA chipsets. Laptops with an Intel chipset use a special bridge chip from NVIDIA so that SLI can be enabled.  From what I can gather the drivers they have specially released for the SLI laptops have had their driver binaries modified to allow them to recognize this bridge so both cards can be enabled. It would be great if NVIDIA would instead use registry settings so that all that would be necessary would be an inf change but they do not. Perhaps as more Intel chipsets become available with two x16 PCI Express slots they will be forced to allow it.

Its not 2 PCIE slots.

Its 1 slot 16x slot with a 2 chips on the card via a bridge according to the video i saw on Direct2Dell's blog.

The problem though, as you mentioned is that because its an Intel Chipset not an NVidia one.
