I don't like the temp/fan profile Dell uses (at least on the I1705). The temp gets too high before the fan(s) turn(s) on. I use I8kfangui for controlling both the CPU and GPU fans. I have the fans come on at a much lower temp than the Dell BIOS, and have no problem keeping a rather low overall temp profile. The nice thing about I8kfangui is that you can have both the GPU and CPU fans come on if only the GPU or CPU is running hot; this can really help cooling.
Overclocking is probably an issue with many 7900 GS failures. With overclocking, use of I8kfangui is a must.

Hey I DLed that I8kfangui program and when I set it to control the fans when it reaches cetain points when it comes on it revs for 1 second then stops for 1 second, like on, off, on off. It's really annoying. Is there a way around that?
