Thank you for your help. I have already downloaded all necessary drivers. When I go into Device Manager, only the 'Microsoft' Network Adapter is showing. I am showing no other Network Adapters. Why? And what do I need to do now, please?
Is this a new installation of Windows? If so, did you install the Notebook System Software and the chipset drivers before even attempting to install other device drivers?
Yes it is a new install. I will list here the drivers I downloaded in the order I downloaded them. If you would be so kind, tell me if they are right...NSS R120775.exe....Chipset R114079.exe....video adapter R128346.exe.....NIC R108904.exe and R155386.exe....audio R171789.exe...modem R114200.exe...Wireless card R140747.exe and R151519.exe
If you could please also tell me why none of the network adapters except one, that I didn't even know was there, the Microsoft loopback adapter, is showing up I think that would help me too.
Yes, I downloaded these files onto a CD-R and installed each one of the files you have listed in the order you listed.
In my original post I wrote...."I looked in the back and it has a wireless Mini card, on the sticker it reads DELL P/N T9016, on the card itself it says 2004 Broadcom BCM94318MPG, but in device manager, it is not listed under network adapters. Broadcom utility says "No active Broadcom adapters detected in this system" Also under device manager, there is no NIC card listed, but it is my understanding that there should be one factory installed in this system."
When I run the troubleshooter for the Intel Wireless it says "Intel(R) PROset/Wireless Software was unable to setect a supported wireless adapter. Pleas install a supported adapter."
So, this is the problem, I show no other adapters in my system. What am I doing wrong? I know that they have not been removed. Where is the NIC located? Would I be able to see it? Is it located under the mini card?
First, you have no Intel adpapters on your system at all, so there you should not be install any device drivers for Intel devices.
If at any point you tried to install a driver before the chipset drivers then things could be so messed up that you will not be able to recover with reinstalling Windows. The chipset drivers need to be present before Windows can properly install the drivers.
You can try going into Device Manager and uninstalling things that you may have installed before the chipset drivers were loaded, but I have seen few people have success (or if they do, they don't come back on the forum to tell us).
I went into Bios and everything was locked, thats the reason my system wasn't recognizing them. I took my computer apart and unplugged the BIOS battery and put it back together and rebooted and it reset everything and now my system recognizes eveything. I am sitting at the kitchen table on the laptop. Thanks for all the help.

NSS R120775.exe
Chipset R114079.exe
video adapter R128346.exe
NIC R108904.exe
R155386.exe is for an Intel 2200 wireless card
Dell Wireless card R151519.exe
You need to know if you have a Dell wireless card or an Intel Wireless card.
You did run these files to install them, didn't you. Just downloading them will not do anything.
