Lufo,

I have not tested it but here is one:

Chris,

thank you for pointing me to that profile! I'll try it later today.

In the meantime I found out the colour gamut of the 2407WFP-HC is pretty close to Adobe RGB (1998). So I tried that for a monitor profile (in Windows XP's Control Panel > Display > Settings > Advanced > Color Mangement), and hey---it does look good! Definitely better than using no profile at all, and also way better than the Dell profile which came with the monitor (that one seems to be meant for the 2407WFP, not the 2407WFP-HC). With Adobe RGB (1998) as the monitor profile, colour-managed applications such as Photoshop will render sRGB images correctly rather than showing an over-saturated mess.

A wide-gamut monitor like the 2407WFP-HC is a nice thing---but having a proper ICC profile now is more important than it ever used to be. Currently I am contemplating the purchase of a profiling tool ...

Over the week-end, I tried that ICC profile---and I don't like it. I guess it was custom-made to match one particular monitor. But it doesn't match mine because it will shift my highlights slightly towards the greenish side. That said, it definitely is better than the original Dell profile which came with my monitor. Still, the generic Adobe RGB (1998) ICC profile is better yet.

So for the time being, I'll stick to Adobe RGB (1998) for my monitor profile which works surprisingly well.

DELL-ChrisM,
I've used the icc profile you listed (http://www.klizma.com/icc/2407WFPHC_2.2_6500.zip) for my 2407wfp-hc, and it's much better than the standard settings.  With a few adjustments through the OSD, the color was on par with my S-IPS monitor.  Now there is no noticeable banding, skin tones are more natural, and the blacks in photos are no longer spotted with red blotches.  I just purchased two 2408wfp monitors and have tried to get them to this same standard with no luck.  The 2408wfp and 2407wfp-hc are totally different animals and unless I can get similar settings, I can't see running them next to each other.  I've found the most compelling setting for the 2407wfp to be the "video-movie" mode.  In the "graphics" mode, I can't get rid of the red tint without turning whites green or blue.  Any similar profiles for the 2408wfp or advice on how to calibrate the new monitors?  It'll really need help for consistency in my multi-display setup.
Thanks!
