Try reinstalling the SDCard reader software ... in Windows Vista my 1505/6400 has
never been able to get info off or onto my SD Card unless I upload/download thru Palm Sync/Windows Sync.
What you want to do is open the device manager located at... Start Menu> **Right Click on "My Computer" > Manage > Device Manager > Disk Drives > **SD Card Reader's Name** > Right Click on any device in there and select "Uninstall" . Reboot your machine and see if that makes it work. If that does not fix it then search at the manufactor's website for an upgraded driver on the Card Reader. If this still does not solve the issue, the following questions would be... Is it an Internal or External Device on your machine? If it is internal then reseat the connections on the inside of your system that are for that device... If it is an external device and you bought it from Dell within the last 30 days you may be able to return it, otherwise contact the manufactor of the device. If reseating the connections does not work any further, then contact Dell Hardware Technical Support.
I'm not sure what the card reader's name is, but I found Ricoh xD-Picture Card host controller and the message says it is working properly. I don't have any installation software with this machine, so what is my next step? Any ideas? I guess I don't have to have a card reader, but it was so convenient. If I can't fix it, it won't be the end of the world. It isn't worth paying to fix if it comes to that.
How do I know what the SD card reader driver is? I found Ricoh xD-Picture Card host controller, but it says the device is working properly. I don't have the software to reload the driver, so what do you suggest?
