Problem I've got is a xps 600 that will not boot the os. I have not got the restore disc availible. So I'm thinking of total format but when I put my Bootable disc in it tells me it cannot format a network drive even c: is my only drive. Any ideas please ??????
Sometimes a drive will require low level formatting. This would be accomplished by 1) determining the manufacturer of your harddrive and 2) going to that manufacturer's website and downloading their disk utility software.
But certainly look into getting a backup cd as suggested in the post above.
