My 1525 gets warm on the touchpad and just to either side of the touchpad.  It's not hot or uncomfortably warm, but noticeable.  Mine has the smaller hard drive.

I've had a Inspiron 1525 for a couple of months but am only just beginning to use it extenmsively and mine too gets very hot just below the key pad and around the touch pad - Nice on a cold day but it is slightly worrying.

I ordered an Insprion 1525 too and I will send it back because it gets very hot immediately. Very sad, because it´s the only thing I don´t like about this notebook.

i have thesame problem. I bought mine at the end of feb.2008. I has been getting hot since i started using it. when mine gets hot the mouse starts to not work well at all. I have reported this so many times and all they do is reinstall the driver. I am getting so upset with customer service because now i cant return it even though i reported it the first day. since they keep reinstalling and doing there thing they tell me to try if for a couple of days. i have tried to tell them that is is because it gets to hot but they say no one has complained about that issue. If anyone knows how i can get the help i need please let me know. thanks

Mine gets really hot too.

I was looking to see if there was anyway it wouldn't get so hot.

It almost burns, and when i put it on a desk or a book there is an almost burning smell.

I'd get a cooling pad but it would be too bulky.

there was now way for mine to get fixed they worked o it here at home then i sent it in and they replaced the same part as they did hat home. they repaced the power cord 2 times. I had to get ,ad and talk t a supervisor. I had kept all my documention and was going to send it in to a news channel and attornay general. I am getting mine repaced but it is the same system so we sill see. they did give me a 1525 inspiron 186mhz instead of 160 i will let you know how it works. In the mean time i also bought a tabletop for it to be tou on but dont get that is is cloth and does nto let any air in. They sold it to me that it would work and it was over 30 dollars another wasted money. I just took some of my boys lincoln logs for thier roof and put it under the computer and it left a space that helped. maybe you can find something like that to raise it up. needs to be on both ends or on all for corners. It will let the air in. also have you done a test on your fans to see if they are running hot, i did and they were running critical in the hot zone/ Hope this helps
