inspiron 1720 nVidia GeForce 8600 GT driver problem - PLEASE HELP!

Question

I have problem with my graphics driver to GeForce 8600M GT , my present driver is 6.14.11.5683 (the newest drivers) from Dell site, and I must have installed version 158.19 to play in Neverwinter Nights. But when I try to instal it, i get this error message: The driver being insalled is not validated for this computer.    Help would be appreciated.Thanks

I use the drivers at : http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=16311   You must use the modded .inf as described in the quickstart guide.

They'd have drivers for XP also, or you can force the reference drivers to install as per:

Guide to installing Nvidia Reference drivers on a notebook WITHOUT modded INF files or hacks. - Gaming Hardware - Dell Community Forum

Bear in mind that doing so *may* not let the GPU's fan get controlled correctly, but I'm not clear on that.
