... they are going to send me a new on with the sound blaster audigy integrated hd card.

There may have been some miscommunication because there is no 'sound blaster audigy integrated hd card'. All of the current Dell laptops have Sigmatel integrated audio based on Sigmatel audio chips on the motherboard. As an 'upgrade' some of the laptops have "Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy Advanced HD Audio" software that adds some signal processing to the audio produced by the Sigmatel audio. Dell does sell an actual Soundblaster sound card named the X-Fi Extreme Audio express slot card, but it is not integrated on the MB of course.

I might be able to offer some advice re stereo mix if you will state your operating system name and re-state your model name. There is an Inspiron 1520 but no XPS 1520 that I know of.

Sorry I meant the Dell XPS M1530.

I am rocking Vista Home Premium

I believe that you gave me directions to the drivers for the problem I brought here before. I think that maybe it was some LG drivers or something like that. I installed them and had stereo mix no problem.

Thanks in advance!

Here is the LG info I have posted before, but I'm surprised it worked on the XPS 1530:

LG Sigmatel driver for models with Vista (tip from definch20):

LG Service Site

1. Click on 'Device Driver'.
2. Select 'Notebook' from the dropdown list under 'Product'.
3. Select 'Windows XP' under 'Operating System'  even though you have Vista.
4. Type 'Sigmatel' into the subject box.
5. Click 'search'. The driver to download is the Series V1 94,472 kb file.
6. To download, click on the file name, "SIGMATEL.zip".
7. Next, select 'Vista' under 'Operating System' and click  'search'.
8. Download the small file  named 'Windows Vista Sound'.
9. Install the driver (94,472 kb file) and restart.
10. Install the small file (Windows Vista Sound).
11. Go to control panel and open Sound. On the recording tab, right click in the large box and click on show disabled devices. A stereo mix option should then appear. Click on the stereo mix and then click on set default at the bottom.

If you need to undo the installation, use 'rollback driver'.

Here is another thing that might work:

The new XP Sigmatel R171789 driver has stereo mix. Some posters have gotten it to work on Vista by using XP compatibility mode.

How to install Sigmatel R171789 XP driver in Vista

So far this is reported to work on

Inspiron E1505/6400 and 1720
Latitude D620
Vostro 1400 and 1500
XPS M1530 and M2010
