Dell's support page for the Dimension 4200 doesnt offer an Intel Chipset driver. Perhaps you grabbed the wrong one from somewhere? Also, you didnt mention installing the driver for an internal modem. There are plenty to choose from for that model, perhaps you are missing that driver?

It's not the Modem driver. I tried them all. Also there's no modem jack on the machine.
I ran SiSoft Sandra and it said, there's an onboard graphics adapter (Intel GMCH AGP Graphics Controller) enabled. The thing is, it doesn't have onboard graphics. At least there's no VGA connector. Installing the GMCH driver from the Intel Website fails of course.
UDI is quite nice, but didn't help me in this case. Or maybe i'm just missing something. I'll attach the output nonetheless.

Pbg_sk,

Try going into the BIOS Setup by pressing the DEL key when the Dell logo appears at boot up.  Choose the Advanced heading at the top and then the Video Configuration option.  See if the Integrated video hardware is detected here or your AGP card.  What I'm thinking.....  there was a version of your model that was sold with integrated video as an option.  That possibly the motherboard has a video chip on it even though there isn't a connector and that Windows is detecting it.  If that be the case and there is no way to disable it in the BIOS then just disable it in Windows Device Manager.

It shows only my AGP card. I guess i have to live with it then. It still kinda bugs me though.

Thanks for your help anyway.
