I doubt you have a "monitor USB port" in your computer or anyone else for this matter. Monitors are not connected via USB ports.
Whatever the deal, do this:
Start==>Control Panel==>System & Maintenance==> Device manager==>Keyboard==>Power Options Tab.
Check "Allow this device to wake up th ecomputer." You will be fine.I assume you've got Vista, haven't you?
