Actually I'm on the third power supply with the battery taken out and so far so good. Any danger in doing this? I've already placed an order online for a replacement battery, so this is the only way to go for now... If this power supply shorts out, then I know it wasn't the battery and a faulty mother board, which I think is unlikely.
I've been using my new battery for a few weeks now and I've been switching between the two power supplies that I have. They are both working fine, so I'm seriously thinking the previous battery is what's killed the power supplies!!!

It's unlikley. More likely the system board is faulty.
