Dell rang me this afternoon and said the monitor i received was a "service" model which basically means a customer return, could be faulty, could be a failure to pay on credit agreement or whatever reason, thats why it is scuffed.
Told any monitor sent next business day is a service model, i am now being told the new revision is in production and i am being shipped one direct from the factory and should arrive 5-10 days.
Ive been told i can keep both monitors for a few days to "test" the new one against the one ive got now.
I really dont trust what they say, the guys on the tech support lines are extremely helpful but im thinking they are telling people what they are told to tell us.

valerian, You are correct. I can only speak for the USA supply chain. No, everything should be A01.
Chris_M: Hi, I'm a new user here in the forums, but a long-time Dell customer. I've been considering the purchase of a 2408WFP for awhile now and have been following this discussion (and others). I'm about to pull the trigger on this purchase and want to ensure I get the "latest and greatest" so if I placed my order now, or within the next week or so anyway, based on your "everything should be A01" comment, would I be assured of receiving a A01 and not an earlier version? Thanks, Ron
