That should be fine, but the best bet is to just let the monitor go into standby mode (orange LED), which uses hardly any power at all.  Same with the computer IMHO, but particularly so for the monitor.

yeah i let it go into standby mode. but i dont want to have a orange led shining in the darkness when i sleep. irritating. and 2nd more impt reason is power usage like u mentioned. even standby consumes unnecessary power, however little power it uses. protect the environment.

i hear the ppl who had a faulty power button switch off at the outlet or the power strip as a workaround but i dunno anyone who has a working power button do this? anyone know whether it will damage the monitor in other ways? thanks alot. :)

any updates on this issue? will the monitor be gradually damaged if i leave the monitor on standby (orange LED) and use the wall outlet or power strip switch to switch off and on the 2408WFP bypassing the monitor's power button?

ChrisM any comments on this? thanks alot......

CrymsonArray,

Shouldn't be an issue.
