The first thing I would do is run a full system diagnostic (F12 @ startup) to check for a hardware fault.

agree , do the dell diagnostic....might try to restore your operating system to an earlier date too,,,possilble that might help.

 

when did the problem start,,,did you make any changes or added anything to your laptop before the problem started?

Just to add, try to load the defaults in the BIOS too. Try pressing F2 at the time your first turn on your computer. Then go to maintenance, you would see the load defaults there.

so you mentioned that yu mentioned that you have updated BIOS already... and the no boot still occur..

 

try to do this:

 

 

remove the battery and remove ac adapter

and hold the power button for 10 sec

then plug in the battery and ac adapter and try turn on

check if u get windows...

I will try this out later tonight.  The problem occured on the first bootup right out of the box.

if you are still in the 21 day periond, get rma and send it back

 

its probably under warranty,,might get in touch with dell, and see if they will fix it. its a strange problem you have there.,, one thing you can do is restore the computer as it came from the factory....see if that helps.

as a xps user.. i face this problem be4 oso..

u just need to unplug all ur usb drivers

(external hard disk, hsdpa modem,pandrive or watever)

ur usb mouse is ok.. wont effect the system boot

 

this is wad i did to slove my problem.
