dude, sp3 is just a collection of updates in sp2, with a few new ones. driver conflicts because dell won't make the proper xp bluetooth driver for the m1330 have nothing to do with windows updates.
according to your sig u don't, and you're using vista...
No, I don't have a M1330. Nor am I using XP. And neither does/is DeathRider - according to his sig'?
But what's that got to do with anything?
This is the 'XPS Laptops' forums section, not a 'XPS M1330' forums section!
Anyways... whilst it may not be the answer... it's folly (IMO) to completely dismiss XP SP3 as a possible solution to your problem, without even trying it?
How old is your M1330? Was it supplied with Windows XP, or Windows Vista?
Even though they now supply their XPS laptops with Windows Vista, exclusively... I'm actually of the opinion, that Dell should still offer Windows XP drivers for them, because it's still the preferred OS of many.
However... whilst I'm truly sorry - and sympathise, for the problems you're having... you shouldn't blame Dell entirely for the driver conflicts in Windows XP... especially if they supplied the laptop with Windows Vista pre-installed?
Unfortunately... other than installing SP3, to see if it makes any difference... I can't think of anything else you can try, that you haven't already tried.
So I can only hope someone who is running XP SP2 on a M1330 looks in on this thread, and is able offer alternative/new suggestions ;)
All thou I also do not have an XPS 1330 but my computer has both BT and the same audio chip, maybe you neeed to down grade from the A11 to the A06 as My System has XP Pro and XP MCE and they both RUN Fine
Delete the device in device manager, Do a Restart and when it finds a new device and looks for a driver Point it to the Dell drivers folder and the R122161 folder and see if it will install.

Try this,
Delete the device in device manager, Do a Restart and when it finds a new device and looks for a driver Point it to the Dell drivers folder and the R122161 folder and see if it will install.
