XPS M1730 Flash Cache (aka Turbo Cache)

OK...didn't order this from Dell, but figured for $25 online I would try it.  Took off the plastic strip and keyboard, popped in the module, put everything back together and went to BIOS.  I then enabled the Flash card and rebooted, again to BIOS.  Under the System section it still shows Flash {Not Installed}.  Also, on the Flash config page it reverted to Off from Enabled.  I took apart the XPS again and moved it to the other slot.  Same deal.  I read a couple things about SATA RAID settings and Flash, but ATA and RAID ON settings result in error messages when you enable the Flash module, so obviously the other choice is correct.  This was a brand new Intel NVM 1GB module, sealed up nicely...guess it could be DOA though.  Any ideas before I try to exchange it?

I installed the 1 gig intel Flash Cache module, went to intel site and downloaded the two files for this to work and installed them both. The module has to be used in the uwb slot for it to work. After rebooting the module showed up in bios.  I dont like empty slots. I am very pleased with the results and even with 3 gig ram, i still see programs opening up faster.
