Cannot see desktop icons while dragging

I have a Latitude D-800 with  GEforce4 4200 Go NVIDIA card.  When I click and drag an icon, I cannot see the icon while I am dragging it.

I have double checked all settings  and disply properties and cannot watch the icons move.

I have noticed in the upper left hand corner, there is a postage-stamp sized area where, If I move the "My Computer" icon around a little bit, I can see icon movement but just in that small space.

IThis is a card where multiple monitors can be used but I'm pretty sure my settings are correct for that, too.

Everything else works just fine.  I just want to see my icons while I drag them instead of them "hopping" to the point where I drag the pointer.

Thanks for any ideas you can give.

I had this very same problem, the solution is to use older drives (or unsupported ones).  I know how stupid that is, but thats the only fix until dell gets working and fixes their drivers.  Its ridiculous that dell has broken drivers on their main page which are totally out of date.  If you do a search for alternate dell latitude drivers etc, you should eventually find pages such as this one:

http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/ohau-estate/mobilegpuindex.htm

this has UNSUPPORTED drivers, which you can use AT YOUR OWN RISK.  But at least they are updated NEWER drivers then dells.  Make sure you are getting the proper drivers (geforce4 4200 go)  Also stick with his recommendations, rather then downloading the newest.. but thats up to you.

As for the dell solution... first look at this page:

then this page:

DELL PLEASE MAKE A FORUM STICKY ABOUT THIS ISSUE! ITS OBVIOUSLY A MAJOR PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED!!!!!!!!!
