You shouldn't need to change anything.

 

Log into BIOS and look under Battery Heath and see if what is being reported - whether it recognizes the battery, whether it is charging, etc.

 

By the way, did you buy the battery from Dell?

Sounds like the problem was the system board, not the battery.

I can't believe that the system board causes the problem. The old battery can be charged and I can use it for ca. 20 minutes still.

 

I've bougth the battery in ebay. It's not an original Dell battery.

That's a different situation - if the original battery is recognized but just short-lived, and the new one is not, the new battery is faulty.
