Try reseating the memory modules.  Also verify that the LED on the AC adapter comes on before you plug in the notebook end - if it does not, replace the adapter with a new one.

 

If the above do nothing, the mainboard is faulty.

I have confirmed the power supply is good.

 

None of the Led's or fans activate with the push of the button.  I'll remove/reinstall the 512mb memory which is accessible from the bottom of the machine and try that.  On that note, how would that prevent the computer from turning on?

Unknown, but I have seen cases where notebooks of all types won't boot if the memory isn't making proper contact with the sockets.  It's a last-ditch effort - it sounds like a bad system board.

Reseat the keyboard, since the power button is attached to it.

 

This is either bad motherboard or bad keyboard
