ok John I received the cables and tried it out and it worked!
all I had to do is plug it in and Walla! the rca worked
I did not have to change any settings
I purchased the nvidia 128mb video card for this computer and it has software in it that brings up a box and configures everything for you for the tv.
Using the cables that Dell gave me and the ones I had did not work, but these did at
www.svideo.com/7pin3rca.html
I purchased the 24ft because in some places i go i need the length and others i do not but it worked fine even being close up to the tv (this is where i just tested it today)
I did not have to change or do anthing.
So if you want to purchase the cable it is on sale now for $19.95. Unfortunetly i paid $24.95 but it is still worth it because it works perfectly.
