Inspiron 1521 - Trouble Installing Sound Drivers

Question

Hi all!   I spent the best part of my day (at least a good 8 hours) going through the forum and couldn't find an answer to this.   I just installed XP, Service Pack 3, on my Inspiron 1521 Laptop. Thanks to postings on the forum I was able to install all the drivers, except two:   1) Conexant D330 HDA MDC WinXP/Win2K Modem Drive --> ERROR: Can't find the Modem 2) Sigmatel Sound Driver (tried both R171789.exe and R153908) --> ERROR: Can't Install   I have done everything and anything you can imagine, and I still can't get it to install.   PLEASE HELPPPPPP!   Thanks a million in advance,   DD

Did you install the chipset driver before attempting to install the audio driver?
