Try updating some of your device drivers for sound card, video card etc... from the dell website

They bring out newer drivers all the time so its worth trying this. Also see if an update for Skype exists.

Ok I'll try it. But I bought this laptop in Japan so the installed driver is in Japanese. Is it OK if I use the one I download from DELL in English?

The Skype I used is the latest version.

And I also read that Skype is a very high demanding on process. Does 2.5GHz, 6MB L2 cache and 4GB RAM not enough to handle this?

Thanks.

Hi, you most probably will have to install the driver in Japanese as the English version may throw up an error message. Your machine is be more than powerful enough to run Skype :smileywink:

I have gone to the DELL site but all they got just the old date of drivers.

I bought it on May 2008 and they only got the latest is December 2007 and
there is one quite new which is the BIOS driver. It is March 2008 but surely mine would have used this one since I
bought it on May.

But it just a problem with the language, right?

So do you know why the powerful machine skipped on VOIP?

Or it is the Skype that experiencing the problem?

I'll try to get the latest Skype and I will tell you the result. They have launched the new version of Skype.

Thank you.
