First, you must install the drivers in the correct order (Chipset Drivers and Notebooks System software before even attempting to install other device drivers).  Second you need to know which wireless network adapter you have so that you can get the proper drivers.   The Dell Driver Installation FAQ (in the FAQ at the top of this forum) will provide further information:

Thanks Steve...

 

 

    I did that, the specs for this computer state that a  Pro/Wireless 2100 LAN mini PCI adapter is installed, however, looking under the device management/network adapters I dont see that particular item...instead I see a Broadcom 440X 10/100 Integrated Controller. Did I install something incorrectly do you think?

The Integrated Controller is your ethernet network controller.  If the wireless doesn't show up in Device Manager, it means that you did not install the drivers in the correct order and did not install the drivers for thw wireless adapter or the wireless adapter is dsiabled in the BIOS, or the wireless adapter does not exist.
