2408 WFP: Use as both computer and cable TV monitor

Question

I am considering buying a 2408 WFP to use as both a computer monitor and as a cable TV monitor.  I am quite naive about both computers and TV.  I have several questions:   1. Can I plug a video cable from a TV cable box into the monitor HDMI jack, get a 1080p picture and control it with a remote from the box?  Any problems with that?   2.  I want to plug my computer speaker system into both the computer soundout jack and the monitor HDMI soundout jack simultaneously by using a 3.5 mm stereo female to twin stereo male Y-connector or splitter.  (I think a Cables Unlimited AUD-3050 will do it.)  Any problem with this setup?   3.  I probably will use cable broadband.  Could these setups used together cause loop problems?  (I'm way over my head here.)   4.  How would I switch between the different inputs?   Thanks in advance for any replies.   Oldrider
