Is the router making a connection to the internet? Did you set the router up to use the proper PPPoE parameters? If you connect the computer to the router with a wired ethernet connection, can you get on the internet?
Yes, the router is making a connection to the internet. There are 2 computers with a wired ethernet connection and 2 others with a wireless connection and all are working. My Inspiron 1200 will connect with the ethernet connection, but not with the wireless card. Under Status is says Connected, with a strong signal. But under Activity, number of Packets received is 0.
To help troubleshoot this problem, on the computer with the problem, go to Start > Run and type cmd then click OK. In the command prompt window that opens, type ipconfig /all then hit the enter key. Write down the output from this command or select it and save it to a txt file, then copy this output into a reply to this message.
I don't think you need new or updated drivers. The ipconfig output shows that you are indeed connecting to the router. If other computers that connect to this same router have no problems, then it must be a software problme with this specific computer. The most likely culprit is a misconfigured firewall or some other program that loads at startup. To test this possibility, reboot the computer into Safe Mode with Network Support and test the internet connection. Let us know whether or not it works in Safe Mode with Network Support.

sorry about that.
I tried installing that latest driver. That didn't work.
Then I uninstalled it. I read something about uninstalling the old
drivers first under the add/remove list. I didnt know what to look for
in the list and then i noticed the internet started working!
What do software/drivers do i remove before installing
the update?
here is information you requested:
