lifter,

Thank you for using the DellTalk Forum.

Make sure no speakers are next to the monitor. Flourescent lighting will also cause the screen to shake, or appear to shake.

I have a similar problem. I never had a any problems with my monitor until I moved. I tried another monitor because I thought I may have damaged it but it did the exact same thing. Nothing is next to my monitor except my PC which is about one foot away. Anyway the monitor has a shaky screen. I even unplugged the PC like you did and looked at the flashing message on my monitor and it shakes. The only way I was able to stop it is run the monitor at 100hertz. I have no Idea why it shakes like this but that stops it for me. Also you may want to check that you dont have a amp near it, I had one near mine and it put a wavy line on my screen. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the solution. I had the same problem with my P1110 on my Dimension 8100 with the 32MB DDR GeForce 2 card. At 1280 x 1024 @ 60hz it was shaky. At first I thought it was the "shielded" speakers, but I have moved them and the problem remained. Thanks for the advice changing the refresh rate to 100 hz, it no longer is shaky. Don't know why this works, but it has fixed my problem. Thanks again!

But what if your computer and monitor don't support 100hz?  I have a Dell 8100 GeForce3 64mb card and P1110.  I'm having the same problem, but my refresh rate only can be set to 60, 70, 72, 75 and 85.  Only 60 stops the shaking.  Should I be able to go to 100hz?

PS:  The setup was working fine for years.  The other day after I pressed the reset button, everything got messed up.
