Docked Profile for Vista

Question

I just got a new E6500 laptop running Vista SP1 32-bit. One problem I see is that Vista did not automatically create a docked profile when I put the computer on the docking station.  Vista down plays hardware profiles but they do still exist.  In my case I would like to be able to set different power settings when the computer is docked but the power options for docked don't even show up.  My D630 running Vista handled this correctly.   Has anyone else seen this and is there a fix?

Thanks for the info.  I assumed it was a hardware problem.  I'm glad to hear XP has the same issue.  I was getting tired of hearing that Vista didn't have hardware profiles :-)

I have a new E6500 running XP with the same issue.  Gold Tech Support said there was a 'known issue', but didn't provide any details or an ETA on a fix.
