Replacement FX 2500M card better than original spec'd 7950 GTX for gaming?

I have a Dell XPS 1710 with a 512Mb Nvidia Go 7950 GTX card that I bought last October.   The card died two Sundays ago.   Last Wednesday, Dell came to my office and replaced the card. I noticed at the time that it came out of a big electrostatic bag with the words 'Refurbished' on a big red sticker on the bag.   The replacement card died last Sunday, having lived in my laptop for 4 days.   Today Dell have come and replaced the second faulty card.   However I found out upon booting the PC that the tech replaced the Go 7950 GTX card with a Nvidia Quadro FX 2500M card. I wasn't informed at the time that a different card was being installed.   From my quick Google search, this new card appears to be inferior to the 7950.   Am I correct in this or is this card the same or better?   This laptop's sole purpose is gaming.

the FX models are usually for workstation, and arent meant for gaming.  I'd call Dell again to get the correct card installed.

Thanks for that. i found out first hand how completely inadequate and inappropriate this card is for gaming when I got home this evening.

Fire up COD4 and the bleeping pc shuts down after 5 minutes. In the middle of winter! I used the old card all summer without a problem, playing COD4 for hours and this piece of rubbish shuts down after 5 minutes!

Not happy Dell! Someone is going to get a piece of my mind tommorrow!

Another refurbished GO7950GTX card has been installed and it seems to working for now, hopefully more than 4 days.
