New battery problem - Inspiron B130

Question

I've installed a new aftermarket Lithium-Ion 6 cell battery & it charged up 100%.  When I shut down, the battery light pulses green and after a few hours (overnight), the battery light flashes orange.  I've noticed that even when the battery is 100% charged, the battery light pulses green.  When I put the original battery back in, the battery light does not pulse green (or flash orange after a period of time) after shut down.  I can run the laptop for 3 hours with the new battery and it will charge back up but I'm concerned about this condition.  I even returned the first one and exchanged it but the problem still exists. The AC adapter is working fine. Is there a setting in the background that needs to be changed?  Help!!

After-market batteries are not tested or certified by Dell so their circuitries may exhibit different behaviours to the Dell issue ones.
