Look under network adapters in device manager. You should see a wireless network device.  A local controller is your integrated network card not your wireless card and 1394 is firewire. Also are you sure you installed the drivers correctly. You should have loaded Notebook System Software, then  Intel Chipset Drivers, then all other drivers.

Are you running a firewall?  If you are, try turning it off for a moment and seeing if everything works as it should.  I had this problem a couple of months ago on my Inspiron and found out that I needed to delete my ZoneAlarm firewall.

thanks for the idea. i have nod32, disabled it and, making sure,  win firewall too..i tried but stayed unable to connect.. sending data is okay, but recivieved everytime nothing.. ON THE OTHER HAND: i managed to set up connection between my pc and my notebook through router WHAT S MORE i can connect with router to the internet.. but still.. unable to do it directly... i dont know.. maybe my hardware cannot communicate with internet... only in case of using router.. some kind of ''wall'' might be the problem..

Does your router have built-in firewall capability, and is it hooked up to a desktop by an ethernet cable?  If yes to both, you should try to log into your router and disable the firewall.  You can find the instructions to do this on the router manufacturer's website.
