The broadcom wireless driver is actually for the Dell wireless card in your system. Click on Start and select Control panel. Open Programs and features. Look for the Dell wireless card utility and uninstall it.
Before you uninstall though, if you depend on your wireless to connect to the internet I suggest you down load your latest wirless driver first. I would post a link for you, but I have no idea what Dell laptop you have nor what you have in it. That info would be helpful
how do i change the settings of the startup repair to the appropriate settings; namely, the last time i used it, a dell agent changed it to dell factory image restore...what setting do i want it at? thanks!
The factory image restore is not something that automatically happens. You have to manually do it and it reases everything on your hdd and puts your computer back to the way you received it. If the factory image is corrupted and has problems, then I recommend reinstalling Vista using the disks that came with your computer. Cal XPS support for them to help you with this. 1-800-232-8544
i know that; that's not what i'm concerned with...i would like to know how to reset the settings for the "repair" option. i noticed that when i selected the "repair computer" option, it started into dell factory image mode.
by the way, my system information is intel(r)core(tm)2 duo T7250@2.00 GHz w/ 4 GB of memory.

The file is for Broadcom Wireless. If you don't use this, it could be part of the problem.
First thing to do is run the Startup Repair. At boot, press F8 and select the Repair function.

First, I'll assume you have Vista.
