First, it wasn't a good idea to open the case if you have no idea what's going wrong. Have you did anything to your computer? Drop on the floor? watering? and or touching inside parts with your own hands...

It's hard to say what's wrong. If there is a reset buttom I suggest you press it... as the same time  call tech support...

Have not opened the case. Moreover, have not done anything to the computer. My computer does not have a reset button. Tech support takes hours.

When I press the power button on my computer the LED just blinks amber. I have done everything short of opening the case (BTW, does anyone know how to do this. There are no screws or latches) and unplugging wires. Has anyone else had this problem? What does it mean? Anyone know how to solve this problem? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

A blinking amber power button LED usually indicates a power supply failure.

First, try opening the case and check all the power and data cables, by unplugging and reconnecting them

After trying the above and the system still does not boot, try installing a new power supply.

As the 3000 has an open back, you can use most generic standard ATX PSU, with or without, the on/off switch and either a 20-pin or 20+4-pin main motherboard power connector and this power supply can be purchased from either a local computer or online store.

The directions for opening the case and replacing the power supply are HERE
