Open device manager and make sure the adapter is showing up with no ! or X next to it

Which service are you using to manage the adapter? The windows wireless zero(WZC) or another?

Have you made sure the radio is not disabled?  Fn+F2 or the "enable radio" option from the systray icon should do so.

Hey, Larry. I have a similiar problem. My network adapter disappeared. I tried the FN F2 fix, but it did nothing. My computer - inspiron 1525 - is only two months old. The tech I called said I had to pay 250. 00 for a service contract in order for him to help me. Do you have another solution?

If these thing do not work, then make a NEW THREAD providing information that is revelant to the problem. If you recently re-installed the operating system, that is also important.

AmyJamieson,

I have an Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN  in my Studio 1737 and I updated the drivers from Intel's Website
