Precision 490 PSU upgrade?
Hi everyone, I'm thinking of upgrading my power supply with a 1 kw unit from a precision 690 does anyone know if it's compatible or not with my system. Thanks in advance

Also, does someone know what is the purpose of the 12pin(6x2) atx power connector on this machine?

Hi jhnC,
1 KW power supply from Precision 690 is compatible and should work on Precision 490 and 12 pin (6x2) connector is used for supplying power to hard drives. You may refer to screenshot below.
For replacing parts on system, you may refer to User's Guide from Here.
Note : Please follow the safety instructions in manual before replacing any parts.
